The statement, which asserted that Hezbollah acts on behalf of the Iranian administration, emphasised that a strong response would be given to the missile attack. Following the statement, sounds of explosions were heard in the capital, Beirut.
31 people lost their lives
The Lebanese Ministry of Health reported that 31 people lost their lives and 149 people were injured in the air strikes carried out by the Israeli army on the capital Beirut and southern regions. In the statement made by the Ministry of Health, it was stated that 20 people in the Dahieh district of Beirut and 11 people in the south lost their lives in the Israeli attacks. The statement noted that 91 people were injured in Dahieh and 58 in the south.
On the other hand, Hezbollah claimed responsibility for the missile attacks against Israel in a written statement. The statement reported that missile attacks were carried out south of Haifa. According to the Israeli press, the missiles fired by Hezbollah were intercepted by Israel's laser air defence system.
Education suspended for security reasons
In Lebanon, where Israel carried out attacks, education was suspended in all private and state schools, as well as vocational and technical education institutions, for security reasons. A statement on the matter was issued by the Lebanese Ministry of Education and Higher Education. The statement reminded that a large number of people displaced from various regions of Lebanon were taking shelter in schools.
