Competition Authority issued Google an administrative fine of 296 million 84 thousand 899 liras for "bringing forward its own local search engine and accommodation services by way of excluding its competitors.
The enquiry that Competition Authority started against Google came to a conclusion. The Authority issued Google an administrative fine of 296 million 84 thousand 899 liras.
Announcement made by the Authority is as follows: “The enquiry has been complete on the claim of the conduct that the consortium (Google) comprised of Google Advertising and Marketing Ltd. Co., Google International LLC, Google LLC, Google Ireland Limited and Alphabet Inc. misused its dominant situation in the search engine services by bringing forward its local search and accommodation prices comparison services by the way of excluding its competitors.
On April 8, 2021, as a result of the arbitration of the case, Google has been found in violation of the Article 6 of the Act 4054 of Protection of Competition, thereby the economic consortium named has been issued an administrative fine.” (EVRENSEL DAILY)
